Launch

Nuntiq launches AP Receiving, and a free pilot for AP teams.

Today we launch AP Receiving: one place where every invoice arrives, is read and is checked before it reaches your ERP. We are also opening a free pilot program for our first customers. This post is the longer story, with the press kit at the end.

The Nuntiq launch film. Sound on.

Since 2012 I have implemented procure-to-pay and finance automation projects. Approvals, matching and payments: the tools for everything after an invoice arrives kept getting better. Receiving the invoice itself did not. Project after project, intake was the step that broke first, and the step nobody owned.

AP Receiving is my answer to that. It is the product Nuntiq launches today, and it does one job well: get every invoice in accurately, whatever its format, and check it before anything moves on.

Why start with receiving?

Accounts payable teams still receive invoices in many forms: emailed PDFs, scans, supplier portals and, more and more, structured e-invoices. Only 38 in 100 invoices go through without a person touching them, according to Ardent Partners research from 2026.

The reasons are familiar to anyone who has worked in AP. Shared inboxes need someone to triage them. Capture tools need a template for each supplier, and someone to maintain it. Errors surface late, during purchase order matching or after approval, when they are the most expensive to fix. Every new e-invoice format or network turns into a project of its own.

"Every AP process starts at the same place: receiving the invoice."

What AP Receiving does

  • Any channel, one queue. Email forwarding, direct supplier send, portal upload, API and structured e-invoice files all land in the same queue. You create as many receiving addresses as you need: per supplier, department, entity or document type.
  • No templates. AI reads each supplier's invoice layout from the first invoice and splits files that hold several invoices, without separator sheets or barcode cover pages. For the rare supplier that needs special handling, your team adds a short instruction in plain language.
  • Checked before it posts. Each invoice is matched to the right entity, supplier and purchase order, enriched from your master data and run through your validation rules, including duplicate detection, before it is released.
  • Your team works the exceptions, not the pile. Reviewers only see invoices that need a decision, with the original document beside the captured data. Every original is stored exactly as it arrived, and every action is recorded with the user and the time.

Want to see what that looks like on difficult invoices? No More Bad Data shows the results on real test invoices, side by side.

Not tied to one AI model

AP Receiving uses AI models from several leading providers, and the model for each step is chosen per capture rule. When a newer or better model comes out, we test it on invoice capture and can switch to it quickly. You get the benefit of better AI as it arrives, without changing anything on your side.

Your documents are never used to train AI models.

Built for IT and security

AP Receiving runs on Amazon Web Services and is built for regional data residency. It runs in the AWS US East region today, and further regions are brought online as customers need them. You decide whether AI processing must stay in your region or may use global endpoints, which give access to the newest models. Each customer's transactional data lives in its own database. All customer data is encrypted at rest with keys Nuntiq manages in AWS Key Management Service, with scheduled automatic rotation. The details are on our security page.

A connector framework and a documented REST API (nuntiq.dev) link AP Receiving to the ERP, accounting and procurement systems you already run, and your own IT team can maintain the integration. Structured invoices in UBL, CII, Factur-X and ZUGFeRD are read directly, which helps US companies with operations in Europe, where e-invoicing mandates are spreading. Partners manage all their customers from one admin portal.

You can be processing your own invoices within a week, and connect your ERP whenever your IT team is ready.

The pilot program

We are inviting a first group of pilot customers in the United States: mid-sized and enterprise AP teams, and the service providers who run AP for them. The pilot is free, so your team can see AP Receiving work on your own invoices before committing to anything.

Pilot customers work directly with me, and help decide what we build next. We are a new company, and we want our first customers to be partners in the product.

Still keying, chasing or correcting invoices?

Send us a handful of sample invoices and we will show you what AP Receiving does with them. Resellers, implementation partners and AP service providers can apply to become a partner.

Thank you to everyone who helped get Nuntiq to this day. Now the real work starts.

About Nuntiq

Nuntiq builds AP Receiving, an accounts payable intake platform. Invoices arrive by email, direct supplier send, upload, API or e-invoice file and land in one queue. AI reads each document without templates, the company's business rules enrich and validate the data, and the AP team reviews only the exceptions before the invoice goes to the ERP. Nuntiq was founded by Ewout Vocking and is based in Chicago. Its name comes from the Latin nuntius, messenger: every invoice is a message from a supplier, and every message deserves to arrive.
