The product
What is AP Receiving?
AP Receiving by Nuntiq is an invoice receiving platform. It takes in every invoice your company receives, through any channel and in any format, extracts the data with AI, enriches and validates it, and delivers checked data your ERP can post.
Is AP Receiving a full AP automation suite?
No. AP Receiving is the receiving stage of accounts payable: receiving, capture, enrichment, matching and delivery to your ERP. Approvals and payment runs stay in your ERP or procure-to-pay system. That makes it a fit next to the systems you already run.
Who is AP Receiving for?
Accounts payable teams that receive invoices from many suppliers in many formats, and the partners and AP service providers who run receiving for their customers. Partners manage all their customers from one admin portal.
Capture
Do I need to build a template for each supplier?
No. AI reads each supplier's invoice layout from the first invoice, so there are no templates to build or maintain. For the rare supplier whose invoices need special handling, your team adds a short plain-language instruction for that supplier, and it is applied automatically from then on. How this compares with template-based OCR.
What happens when a supplier changes its invoice layout?
Nothing needs to be updated. AP Receiving reads the new layout the same way it read the old one.
Can AP Receiving split a PDF that contains several invoices?
Yes. AI splits the file into separate invoices, with no separator sheets or barcode cover pages. Continuation pages and pages such as a cover letter or delivery note stay with the invoice they belong to.
Does it read scanned invoices?
Yes. Most invoices today are digital PDFs, and Nuntiq reads those with its own PDF reading technology, straight from the file, without OCR errors. Scanned and image-based PDFs are read with OCR first. Either way, the text goes through the same AI capture.
How accurate is the capture?
We publish our capture results on real-world test invoices, including scans, faxes and multi-invoice PDFs in several languages, with every answer unedited, at nomorebaddata.com. In production, every invoice is also checked against its own totals and your validation rules, and anything that does not add up goes to your team instead of being posted.
Which AI models does AP Receiving use?
AI models from several leading providers, chosen per capture setting. AP Receiving is not tied to one model: when a better model becomes available, Nuntiq tests it on invoice capture first and then switches to it, with nothing to change on your side.
Receiving and e-invoices
How do invoices reach AP Receiving?
By email forwarding, direct supplier send, portal upload, API or structured e-invoice file. All of them land in the same processing queue. Invoices waiting on another platform, such as an e-invoicing network or access point, can be pulled in automatically through a connector.
How many receiving addresses can I have?
As many as you need, per supplier, department, entity or document type. Suppliers who send to their own address skip your mailbox, and the address tells AP Receiving which supplier instructions to apply.
Which e-invoice formats are supported?
UBL, CII, Factur-X and ZUGFeRD, plus JSON, CSV and EDI files. They are mapped directly, without OCR. A PDF with embedded Factur-X or ZUGFeRD data is recognized and its XML is used.
Does AP Receiving work with Peppol?
AP Receiving reads Peppol invoice formats natively. If you receive e-invoices through a Peppol access point or an e-invoicing platform, a connector pulls the invoices from it and, where the network requires it, sends the invoice statuses back. Nuntiq is not a Peppol access point itself.
Can suppliers check the status of their invoices?
Yes. Suppliers log in to the supplier portal with a one-time code sent to their email, no password, and see the status of their invoices and payments. Suppliers can also submit invoices through the supplier API.
Checks and review
What is checked before an invoice reaches my ERP?
Each invoice is matched to the right company entity, supplier and purchase order, and fields are filled from your master data. The captured lines are checked against the invoice's own totals. Then your validation rules run: duplicate detection, mandatory fields and your own checks, each flagged as error, warning or info.
What happens when an invoice fails a check?
It goes to your team instead of being posted. Each exception goes to the person or team who should handle it, with the original invoice beside the captured data and every issue highlighted. Click any captured value to see where it is printed on the invoice.
Is there an audit trail?
Yes. Every document is stored exactly as it arrived and cannot be changed or deleted after intake. Every action on an invoice is recorded with the user and time.
ERP integration
Which ERP systems does AP Receiving connect to?
Any ERP, accounting or procurement system with an API or a file-based import and export. Connectors start from ready-made templates that already handle scheduling, secure credentials, logging and error handling, so only the part specific to your system is set up. Connectors push validated invoices and pull supplier and purchase order data.
Can our own IT team maintain the integration?
Yes, if you want to. Your IT team can maintain connectors, file formats and scheduled tasks in the customer portal, with separate rights per area. By default, Nuntiq or your implementation partner sets up the integration.
Do invoices go to the ERP one by one or in batches?
Either. Validated invoices go to your system as soon as they pass validation, or in batches on a schedule you set.
Security and data
Are my invoices used to train AI models?
No. Your documents are never used to train AI models. Each AI provider is set up so that customer data is not used for training.
How is my data separated from other customers?
Each customer's transactional data lives in its own database, separate from every other customer.
Where is my data hosted?
AP Receiving runs on Amazon Web Services in two regions: US East (N. Virginia) for US customers and EU (Frankfurt) for EU customers. Each customer's documents and transactional data are hosted and processed in its own region, with backups replicated to a second region in the same geography. EU customers can use an EU receiving address (apreceiving.eu or invoicereceiving.eu), so their invoice emails are received in the EU as well. A small set of platform administration and sign-in records is kept in the US.
Each customer also decides whether AI processing must stay in its own region or may use global endpoints. Other regions can be brought online for customers who need them.
Getting started
How long does it take to get started?
You can be processing your own invoices within a week, and connect your ERP whenever your IT team is ready. Suppliers, organizations and users can be loaded from Excel when no connector exists yet.
Can we try it first?
Yes. We offer a free pilot on your own invoices. Send us your invoices to start.
See it work on your own invoices.
Send us a handful of real invoices and we will show you exactly what comes out the other side. We're working with our first customers now: join them, and help shape what we build next.
Our vision: accounts payable should be a strategic function, not an administrative burden.
